Fate/Extella Link Shows off Tamamo and Archer in New Trailer

Fate/Extella Link gives us a closer look at the gameplay for both Tamamo no Mae and Archer, showing off the games updated graphics and Noble Phantasms

With only a few weeks until the release of Fate/Extella Link, we’re finally getting some new gameplay footage of some of the popular servants. XSEED Games and Marvelous releases two new trailers for the Umbral Star sequel, featuring gameplay for Tamamo no Mae and Archer.

First up, Tamamo Mae is back in her Caster form to give players a chance to play as the magic-wielding waifu once again. Her movement is still relatively fast, with quick dives and dodges at your disposal. You won’t have to do that too much, however, because her magic and attacks seem to be just as crazy as ever. With tornadoes and giant slashes at your disposal, you’ll have no trouble clearing out giant waves of enemies. And man there are plenty of enemies to mow through with Fate/Extella Link‘s return to the Dyansty Warriors-style combat.

Tamamo no Mae also has her Noble Phantasm of Amaterasu, where she summons a giant flaming orb to throw down upon enemies. The Noble Phantasm seems quite cinematic and satisfying to watch as well. And of course this all looks better thanks to the updated graphics that Fate/Extella Link is bringing to the table.

Not to be outshined however is Archer, or Nameless as he’s called in this game. This is the Archer everyone knows and love with his white hair and red cloak, though with a little bit of an Ansem hairdo now. Archer uses his signature blades to clear out the flood of foes, using speed and power to get the job done. His Noble Phantasm, Unlimited Blade Works, looks picture-perfect with the anime’s representation — featuring the giant gears and blades across the field. Thankfully, Fate/Extella Link does an especially good job keeping the scale and power of this move intact.

And with that, Fate/Extella Link is shaping up quite nicely, giving fans of the first game a much more enhanced experience both in visuals and gameplay. Of course, we’ll have to wait to see if it feels as good as it looks but luckily we’re only a few weeks away from that.

Fate/Extella Link drops on PC, PS4, Switch, and (surprisingly) Vita sometime in March.

In other Fate news, Type-Moon announces a 15th-year-anniversary project for the original visual novel.
